ROME, N.Y. – Rome Federal Credit Union invites members and the community to celebrate International Credit Union Day® with an Open House on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at its 937 Seneca Street location.
International Credit Union Day celebrates the history and achievements of the credit union movement and the difference member-owned financial cooperatives make in the communities they serve.
Rome Federal Credit Union has been part of the Rome community since 1936, beginning as two separate credit unions serving City of Rome and Revere Copper employees. The two organizations merged in 1985, and in 2015 Rome FCU expanded its membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Rome.
Today, Rome FCU continues that tradition as Rome’s oldest credit union, providing local, personalized financial services while remaining focused on the needs of its members and community.
To celebrate International Credit Union Day, Rome FCU welcomes members and community members to stop in throughout the day for refreshments, prizes, and giveaways.

About Rome Federal Credit Union:
Founded in 1936 as the Revere Rome Division Employees Federal Credit Union, we began serving employees of Revere Copper and Brass. In 1985, the Credit Union merged with the Rome City Employees Credit Union, also founded in 1936. They formed into what’s now Rome Federal Credit Union. Over the years, we expanded our membership to include local businesses and organizations, and in 2015, we transitioned to a community charter, allowing anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Rome to join. Our commitment to personalized service and financial security has been at the heart of our mission for nearly 90 years.
